Preparing For a Visit

I know you and your family may feel a little anxious about a visit from The Nit Witch, but there’s really nothing to worry about. I’m the friendliest witch in town, and I’ll do everything I can to put you at ease and make sure you feel comfortable throughout the treatment. I’ll also give you some hints and tips as I work, so that you feel confident in self-treatment and prevention methods.

Once we’re done with the treatment, I’ll let you know what you need to clean in your home. Don’t be offended - there are no judgments here! It’s simply to reduce the chances of reinfestation, and I’ll guide you through the safest and most effective ways of making sure everything’s spick and span.

Here are some things you can do in advance to make sure the day of treatment goes as smoothly as possible...

I strongly recommend making sure all members of the household are home when I visit, so I can check everyone for signs of infestation and treat them if they need it. That way, we’ll minimize the chances of the lice returning after treatment. Schools love this too, since it lets them know that, as a parent, you’ve done your part to stop lice from spreading!

Make sure everyone who’s being treated has their hair washed the night before, using regular shampoo - it’s important that their hair is dry when I arrive. Make sure the hair is brushed or combed and tangle-free. Also, please don’t use gel, hairspray or other products on the day of treatment, as they make the process more difficult and less comfortable.
Choose an area with good lighting for the treatment to take place. If there’s a table and a chair with a low back or a stool, it’ll make things much easier!

Although I’ll try to make the treatment as quick and comfortable as possible, a methodical lice removal does take a little while, so if young children are being treated, it may be worth keeping some toys or a favorite book nearby to keep them entertained while they’re sitting!

Above all - don’t stress out! I’m a mom, so I know how precious your little ones’ heads are. You can rest assured that I’ll be thorough but gentle, and I’ll make the treatment as painless - and even fun! - as possible. All the products I’ll use are natural and don’t contain anything that I wouldn’t be happy for my own girls to use.
